Yesterday the class arrived and headed straight to the Belize Zoo – one of the best places in Belize for environmental education and conservation. The group then continued on to the western end of Belize to Chaa Creek resort. They had a delicious rice and beans and stewed chicken supper at the Macal River Camp casitas. Oil lamps in cabins, decks with hammocks that overlook the Macal River below...it is rustic with no electricity, river/jungle setting, and basic accommodations – but it is very classy and beautiful! What a great way to welcome a group to Belize!
Follow our Tropical Field Ecology classes as we study wildlife and ecosystems in Belize, Central America. Join us as we explore the jungles, Maya ruins, rivers, caves and reef in Spring, 2012!
